Lizzie and her sister Lily live a beautiful life at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary in Erie, Colorado. Lizzie and Lily were rescued as piglets by Direct Action Everywhere from one of the biggest factory farms in the USA. When rescuers picked them up from the gestation crate, they were covered in feces, living among their dead siblings, and Lily had a serious leg injury. They were near death. With lots of love and medical attention, both Lizzie and Lily recovered and now thrive at Luvin Arms. Their rescuers, Wayne Hsiung and Paul Picklesimer, went on trial for felony burglary and misdemeanor theft charges in September 2022. They were acquitted. In one of the most significant verdicts in animal rights history, a jury ruled that the two piglets, Lizzie and Lily, were not property - they were somebody who deserved to be rescued.
